Ultra Blue

Ultra Blue™ rope constructions are truly a major development in comparison to polypropylene ropes. Ultra Blue™ ropes utilize our proprietary Ultra Blue™ copolymer olefin fiber. This maximum strength fiber creates ropes that are 30 to 35% higher in strength than equivalent polypropylene constructions.

This fiber gives Ultra Blue™ ropes up to three times the wear life over polypropylene. The unique fiber surface develops excellent grip capability while adding to surface wear life. The overall strength and wear features give the opportunity of downsizing while maintaining longer wear life over standard polypropylene ropes.

Characteristics:

30 - 35% stronger than polypropylene
Floats
Superior ultraviolet resistance over polypropylene
Excelletn flex wear resistance
Non-Torque construction

Proton-8

Sorry,

at this time.
A specially designed product for Tug Assist Lines (working off H-Bitts) and Barge Tie-Up Lines. The 8-Strand contruction utilizs the extremely high strength and light weight of UHMWPE fiber (Dyneema® SK-75) with very durable polyester for required working coefficient of friction on bitts.

Proton-8 is an 8-Strand construction in which each strand is comprised of a 100% Dyneema® SK-75 core with a cover of Dyneema® SK-75 surrounded by polyester. The polyester improves the rope's grip and heat resistance. Each strand is coated with Samthane™ type "S" to provide additional wear-life characteristics.

This non-torque construction has shown excellent performance in wear-life and rendering . It also exhibits the low stretch required in the Tug Assist application.

Product features are further enhanced by the ease of handling afforded by the product's light weight. Size-for-size Proton-8 has less weight and comparable strength to our 12-Strand AmSteel® contractured from HMWPE (Dyneema® SK-60) fiber.

Characteristics:

Lightweight
Low stretch for maximum control
Excellent grip on H-bitts
Easy to re-splice
Neutrally buoyant

Applications:

Tug Assist Lines (working off H-bitts)
Barge Tie-Up Lines
